For the new community members who are new to auto-compounding vaults, here’s an introduction about Crow Finance vaults, and how they can help you maximize your gains while leaving you to perform minimal actions.
What are vaults? Why do we need them?
Let’s say we have provided liquidity to the FINIX-BUSD farm and we’re earning FINIX at 349% APR (at the time of writing). Now, this is totally fine. But what if we wanted to earn MORE?
We could take our FINIX rewards and use them to provide more liquidity to the FINIX-BUSD farm. This way we will be earning the same APR but on a larger capital.
This has some downsides though:
- You have to spend time harvesting rewards, swapping a part of them to BUSD, and then providing liquidity to the farm. We would also need to repeat this procedure every now and then;
- For everyone of the steps above mentioned, we would need to pay network fees. Sure, they are low on Binance Smart Chain, but what if we would do the whole procedure, let’s say 8 times a day?
How vaults can come into play
In a Vault, you can deposit your LPs, and then the vault will take care of everything! Every 3 hours, our vaults harvest the rewards, buy more LPs and automatically deposit them to increase your final rewards.
This process is called “auto compounding”.
Auto compound transforms your APR in APY, giving you access to way higher rewards in the long run. On the first day, rewards will be the same, on the second day the rewards will be slightly higher for the vaults and so on.
